Share Email Opening Title Business Banking Officer  Category Business Banking   Description Summary:  Responsible for developing new business, underwriting, structuring, and the closing of commercial loans, as well as maintaining and servicing an existing portfolio.  Develops and maintains banking relationship with business customers.  Represents the bank in the local community through active participation in community affairs.  Sells and services all banking and loan products to existing and potential commercial customers and makes referrals to other banking officers when appropriate by performing the following duties: Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: Monitor an existing commercial real loan portfolio to ensure proper risk ratings and early identification of potential problems. Source, develop and underwrite new construction, interim and permanent commercial financing request for new and existing customers. Maximize bank profitability through appropriate pricing of new loan originations, fee income, and selling of all bank products and services. Daily review, approval and disposition of commercial overdrafts. Negotiate terms, and structure of loan financing based on risk considerations and present credits for approval to appropriate levels of authority within the bank as required. Manage loan portfolio to acceptable levels of risk in accordance with Bank Loan Policy by utilizing proper credit risk rating, credit analysis and loan structure. Review reports and financial statements to determine changes in economic conditions. Analyze and competitively respond to financial needs of the business community. Call and visit target customers to promote and sell establishment products and services. Prospect and develop relationships following policies and procedures to attain new business relationships and product sales with commercial clients. Refer clients to other Financial Professionals for such services as Mortgage, Insurance, Investment, Treasury Management, and Merchant Services. Work with political and community agencies, participates in Community Organizations within marketplace to develop banking relationships and identify business opportunities. Promote and cross-sell other products and services as appropriate to customer requirements, such as business and non business checking, credit card, and lines of credit. Other Responsibilities: Perform other related duties as required or assigned that are in the spirit of this job description and position as necessary for the Bank and the Department to function effectively. Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
