2015 Teachers: Reader/Evaluator position

Description

NOTE: If you are a teacher certified and residing in California, please exit this requisition and select the "Teachers Only - California" category when applying.

Dear Teacher:

Thank you for your interest in employment with Measurement Incorporated. We are a diverse company engaged in educational research, test development, and the scoring of tests administered throughout the world. Our company has grown to be the largest of its kind by providing consistent and reliable results to our clients. We are able to do so through the efforts of a professional and flexible staff, and we welcome your interest in becoming a member.

If you are hired as a reader/evaluator, you will be placed into our qualified reader pool for the upcoming scoring season. You will be eligible to work on the portions of the Smarter Balanced project that fit your qualifications and schedule in April, May and June. This project requires readers to score writing samples for content, organization, grammatical convention and/or the student's ability to respond to specific items in Reading, Writing or Math. The tests you will score come from many different states and from students at grade levels 3-8 and 11.  Readers/Evaluators may work one or both 3.5-hour day shift sessions or the 4-hour evening session.  Various sessions are available between 8 am ET and 12 am ET.

Readers/evaluators are trained for certain grades or content areas and must be able to accept and apply the scoring criteria as directed and maintain consistent and reliable scoring results throughout the project. They also must be willing to operate in a repetitive task situation and maintain confidentiality.

Beginning pay for reader/evaluators is $11.70 per hour; subsequent rate increases are based on experience and proven performance. If hired, you will be asked to register for our payroll system and set up direct deposit if you have a bank account. All MI employees are paid every other Friday for the preceding two-week pay period. In some states educators who are currently employed in schools are eligible for higher pay and limited hours.
