Summary:

This position leads and provides oversight to all Software Quality Assurance (SQA) projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with product owners and developers at all stages to promote quality.
  • Produce test plans and assign work to QA analysts as necessary, automate tests where appropriate.
  • Produce and prioritize bug reports, reproduce bug reports. Run cross-platform testing (Windows, Linux, and Solaris)
  • Verify that the load, scalability, and performance requirements have been met.
  • Coordinate with the IS department to ensure required test platforms are available.
  • Work with developers to perform root-cause analysis and preliminary problem diagnosis.
  • Collaborate with project managers, business analysts and developers to provide QA testing status and deliverables across the entire project including the Test Strategy, Test Plan, Data Coordination, environment readiness, interfaces, and Defect Management.
  • Ensure all functional areas create/maintain and execute manual test cases & automation scripts throughout the project test cycle according to QA CQS standards
  • Ensure all QA & project related activities and documentation is effectively communicated
  • Ensure all QA Deliverables are maintained within QA CQS or ISO testing standards
  • Motivate staff to deliver quality projects within project constraints
  • Provide weekly project status report and testing metrics for all QA activities
  • Perform root cause analysis to ensure SQL proficiency and the ability to isolate system problems
  • Provide support as needed to production systems ensuring that both internal and external client’s needs are met
  • Aggressively work to provide solutions to challenges as they arise
  • Possess a positive and constructive attitude
  • Continuously develop technical, non-technical, project management and leadership skills
  • Effectively communicate with all levels within in the company   
 
Position Requirements

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a Quality Assurance or Development role
  • Understanding of software engineering and web development
  • Knowledge of the systems management industry an asset
  • All skills, abilities and education will be considered for minimum qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree is required, preferably with emphasis on Business or Computer Science
  • Strong organizational and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in higher education preferred
