Outside Sales Representative

About the Organization Revolution Prep is redefining how students learn by transforming the traditional tutoring relationship through the power of live, one-on-one instruction with a full-time, professional tutor. We understand the impact that a fantastic educator has on a student’s academic confidence, and therefore invest deeply into the growth and development of our academic advisors and faculty to be teachers, mentors, and role models. As a result, our students achieve dramatic growth in our four core metrics: 1) Better grades, 2) Better test scores, 3) Greater love of learning, and 4) Lower Stress. At Revolution, our philosophy is guided by the belief that any student can learn with the right support.

Beyond Grades. Beyond Tests. Beyond Tutoring. Revolution Prep.

Position Outside Academic Advisor
Location Remote

The Opportunity

Revolution Prep, the nation’s best and most innovative tutoring firm, has new opportunities for experienced sales professionals in a variety of locations.  Our sales professionals, known as Outside Advisors (OAs), are primarily responsible for generating sales of tutoring programs, to be delivered by our faculty of amazing full time tutors.

We have envisioned the role as an independently run small business, but without many of the operational challenges.  This role provides expert advice and guidance on our academic programs that put their students’ needs first.  We maintain the highest ethical standards, and expect our sales professionals to uphold the integrity and trust of our brand.

At Revolution, we pride ourselves foremost on the quality of our tutors, but also on the quality of our sales and customer service processes. The first prerequisite for our tutors is a genuine interest in the wellbeing of our students, and the same goes for our sales professionals.

The Job

At Revolution, your primary mission is to be a trusted resource to the community. We provide extensive training on how to advise parents on the nuances of standardized testing and academic growth, and we have a deep set of resources at your disposal. Ultimately, our OAs are experts in their field, and it is through the expression of this expertise that our OAs build relationships with connectors in their community from school personnel to sports team leaders to country clubs or religious groups.

OAs are expected to generate their own leads and, through a highly consultative process, help families learn what types of support would be most appropriate for their children. OAs are responsible for the sales and ongoing customer service needs of their clients.

Of course, the most effective OAs are very comfortable with generating proposals and closing sales. Programs range in price from $299 up to several thousand dollars.

OAs will have a great deal of discretion over their schedules, but can expect to work between 30 – 40 hours per week depending on the time of year. OAs are field based, so their typical days will be spent on the phone talking to potential and current clients, meeting potential clients for coffee, etc., and giving presentations to groups small and large.

Specific responsibilities include:
