Responsibilities include the overall system design that includes software approach as defined by Software Architect and all infrastructure components including databases, server platforms, network and telecom, storage, and client devices. Creates high level, logical and physical system architecture designs, documents and works with technical engineers to validate and presents to Architecture review board for approval of technical approach. Leads a cross functional team of technical engineers and software architects in creation of an integrated technical solution in support of business goals. Coordinates design activities with Technology Planning Teams when exceptions to either current technical or security standards are required. Leads the design Team in defining technical objectives based on requirements and developing deliverables which guide the solution build and implementation teams. Mentors and develops new or less experienced team members to share Knowledge. Produce standard design deliverables Understands and documents the current systems and technology state for purpose of communicating and sharing information with design teams. Ensures architectures compliance with current technical strategies and standards. Coordinates the capital budget estimates required to request funding of project efforts. Ensure that all technical documentation is archived and published in appropriate repositories. Understands business unit organizational functions to ensure that required decisions makes are engaged during technical phases gates as defined in System Design Life Cycle. Translates business requirements into technical requirements and ensures technical approach meets business and technical requirements. Acts as liaison with R&D if Proof of concept engagement is required as part of the technical solution decisions. Leads development of multiple technical approach options if required, and presents to IT and business management via Program updates for business decision on approach. Consults project build team in the event there are changes or exceptions required to approved technical approach.   Position Requirements BS in Computer Science is required. 8+ years experience in IT Design and Development. Data Center migration experience is highly desired. Candidates should have experience analyzing infrastructure stacks and configurations to assess readiness for migration.
