Description

George School, a Quaker boarding/day college preparatory high school located in Newtown, Bucks County, PA has an opening for a full-time, year round Camp Director.   Our day camp program has long been a staple of campus life.  We’re looking for a Director with experience and vision to take our camp programs to the next level.

The Camp Director develops, implements, and oversees youth-oriented sports and recreational programs that support the School’s educational mission by exposing children and their families to the George School campus, community, and values, by providing them with high quality experiences, and by generating revenue in support of George School’s core school-year program.  Specifically, the Director oversees all aspects of George School Day Camp, including budgets, marketing, planning, staff recruiting and training, and parent communication.  The Director will also develop and manage other recreational and athletic programs during the summer and school vacation periods.

 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred.
  • 10 years of progressively responsible experience working with children and managing camps, recreation programs and/or summer programs.
  • Supervisory experience required, with a collaborative work style.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage a budget.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit with experience in business development.
  • Expertise in marketing summer or similar programs using a variety of technology resources.
  • Initiative, self-motivation and ability to follow through with tasks and projects in a timely manner.
  • Proficient with PC systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of web site content management and social networking.
