What We Are Looking For

NCU is currently seeking a talented professional to join our Information Technology Team as Director, IT Service Delivery

IT Service Delivery (Institution/Business Relationship Owner) supports and gives input to the Unit Segment Leader in the strategic direction and implementation of academic, business, and technology plans and objectives. This individual will serve as a liaison to Executive Management, the Unit Segment Leaders; Department Management; and other stakeholders involved in strategic plans and objectives.

 
Position Requirements

Essential Job Functions

  • Keeps abreast of technology trends, especially those trends relating to the educational environment; analyzes and recommends value-added technologies, tools, and methodologies in support of operational objectives
  • Assists University Leadership to define and communicate needs and requirements (both institution and technical) that enable and enhance area performance.
  • Participates in strategic, problem solving and process improvement discussions with all university/business segments.
  • Develops and presents Return on Investments analytics (ROI), Business Case proposals, Cost/Benefit Analysis and Technology proposals with support from the Business Analysis team.
  • Proactively identifies and evaluates academic/non-academic operations, business operations, systems and process opportunities; brings forward industry trends.
  • Reviews feasibility studies and new product research initiatives.
  • Coordinates discovery, scope, estimates and business case development for new engagements.
  • Conducts high-level evaluations during pre-concept stages of engagements.
  • Develops measurements and metrics to gauge value and performance.
  • Ensures projects that contain a technical component, consider and include: Design, Build, Run, Maintain, Support and Security.
  • Assists team leadership to define research and prioritize process improvement initiatives; ensures alignment with university strategy.
  • Collaborates with all Business Segment Leaders and other IT Service Delivery Team (ITSD) to prioritize business segment initiatives, works closely with the Project Management Office (PMO).
  • Creates and maintains a clear, prioritized Business Segment portfolio of projects in conjunction with other ITSDs, ensures the PMO is aware of all in-flight projects.
  • Creates and manages RFP process – pre-statement of work.
  • Ensures expectations are clear between all parties responsible for product delivery and the Business Segment; provides final user acceptance of deliverables.
  • Interacts with third party vendors and service providers through RFP and selection process.
  • Actively engages project team(s) to ensure that solutions are delivered on time and meet quality and budget requirements.
  • Serves as academic/business segment representative on project teams.
  • Coordinates resolution of escalated issues.
  • Tracks program success against ROI for all projects within academic/business segment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products
  • Knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flowcharts
  • Proficient with use of MS Office products and online communication
  • Experience with Photoshop, and MS project preferred
  • Skill in exercising independent judgment and taking action on it
  • Skill in performing business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and data modeling
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure
  • Ability to create systematic and manual operations procedures in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Ability to apply statistical and other research methods into systems issues and products as required
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information with various levels of constituents
  • Ability to use and facilitate online communications
  • Ability to propose alternative business processes based on analysis
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks under pressure
  • Knowledge of SDLC and how to design, develop and implement software solutions
  • Ability to communicate proposals and requirements across organizational teams
  • Strong organizational and excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent understanding of the universities’ goals and objectives

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree desired.
  • 2-15 years working experience in business analysis.
  • 2-15 years’ experience working in Higher Education preferred
  • Extensive experience in business analytics, process improvement and project management
  • Comprehensive analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving experience
  • Demonstrated successful experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Demonstrated project management skills and project management software skills, including Microsoft Project
  • Previous experience serving as a project lead is preferred.
  • Proven leadership with excellent communication, organizational, detail-oriented and problem-solving skills is essential.
  • Proven collaboration, facilitation and negotiation skills are required.
  • Customer service skills, including the ability to manage and respond to different customer situations while maintaining a positive and friendly attitude are essential.
  • Proven ability to motivate self and others is necessary. Maintaining confidentiality, treating others with respect and upholding University values is key.
  • Experience with project analysis, estimating, business case development and financial analysis is crucial. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office is required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to all levels of the organization and external audiences are essential.
  • All skills, abilities and education will be considered for minimum qualification and assigned level
