The Branch Manager (BM) is responsible for developing a highly engaged, skilled and energetic service delivery team that is highly satisfied with their employment at the credit union. Under the BM’s leadership, this team will excel at meeting their goals and building relationships with members and peers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Strategic and Developmental Responsibilities:
Works collaboratively with the Vice President of Branch Operations to build a branch system that delivers an outstanding member experience. Our business model requires a loyal, highly skilled workforce that is motivated to deliver amazing service. The BM will identify gaps between the service experience that we seek to deliver and the actual state and work across departmental lines to address these gaps. The following are examples and not intended to be an all-inclusive list of the responsibilities:
Setting branch goals and metrics
Producing production and performance reports
Identifying staff training needs
Identifying tools to improve the staff and/or member experience
Identifying processes, rules, etc. that cause member aggravation and suggesting enhancements
Participating in expanding member relationships through proactive sales efforts
Identifying ways to enhance employee satisfaction
This position will be the primary branch team person to lead or participate in projects that impact the branch team. It is also responsible for the development and accomplishment of an annual operating plan and budget results, consistent with the overall strategic plan of the Credit Union.
Assists employees in providing high quality service to members and peers
Develops suggestions to improve efficiency and effectiveness in the branch system
Develops suggestions for new tools to enhance employee productivity
Plans, schedules and staffs branch location(s)
Prepares periodic reports for example sales volume, potential sales, and areas of member education and relationship management
Is responsible for transporting one’s self between SFCU offices.
Risk and Security Management:
Directs and coordinates activities to implement institution's policies, procedures, and practices concerning branch operations
Available to become a notary and a medallion signature guarantee holder
Is responsible for appointing a safety officer to ensure safety and security information is being communicated to staff
Conducts quarterly emergency response drills and robbery training for their staff.
Oversees audit functions
Is responsible for compliance with all required regulations and polices, especially with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) policies, procedures and regulations
Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that the employee(s) harmonizes with members, vendors, co-workers, and management.
Manages one to two subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 8-12 employees in the Branch Operations. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned unit(s).
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
