Volunteer Title: Capacity Building Internship (Unpaid)

Department: National Network for Arab American Communities (NNAAC)

Location: Main Office

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Research resources for non-profit clients
  • Help plan Leadership Institute or National Conference
  • Create, compile, and analyze surveys
  • Write occasional blog posts on nonprofit issues, if interested
  • Support national domestic violence networking group
  • Help draft letters of inquiry and grant proposals
  • Assist with executive director peer support group
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications: Interested candidate must be a current college student or recent graduate with a desire to learn about non-profit management and leadership skills.

Education/Experience: Candidate should have experience with non-profit management; clear personal goals; willingness to learn; good attention to detail; access to transportation

ACCESS has been serving the community for more than 40 years. Started by a group of volunteers in 1971 out of a storefront in Dearborn's impoverished south end, ACCESS was created to assist the Arab immigrant population adapt to life in the United States.

Today, ACCESS is the largest Arab American human services nonprofit in the United States. With eight locations and more than 100 programs serving metro Detroit, ACCESS offers a wide range of services to a diverse population.

ACCESS continues to honor its Arab American heritage while serving as a nonprofit model of excellence - an organization dedicated to community-building, focused on service to those in need, an advocate for cultural and social entrepreneurship, and the values of community service, health, education and philanthropy.
