Loss Prevention Agent

Description Receive new Worker's Compensation and Public Liability cases from stores.• Create files and input into computer.
• Review cases to ensure that report and statements are complete and accurate.
• Supply stores with proper paperwork and blank forms to write their Worker's Comp and Public Liability reports.
• Assist managers and employees on correcting their report and statements if any discrepancies are found.
• File away Worker's Comp and Public Liability cases when completed.
• Call insurance carrier to report Worker's Comp cases, which are other than first aid only.
• Follow up on cases by contacting insurance case adjusters, nurse case managers, and employees.
• Call our attorney on Public Liability cases that are represented a claimant's attorney.
• Fax or mail report and attorney representation letter.
 
Position Requirements • Review report with attorney and employees when necessary.
• Transport employees to courts, binding arbitrations, depositions, and other related matters when cases are being litigated.
• Make phone calls to adjusters, nurses, clinics, attorneys, insurances, employees, and store management, on matters pertaining to Worker's Comp or Public Liability cases, and receive calls from above mentioned personnel as well.
• Write up safety policies and procedures for our store departments, and create English/Spanish safety memos and posters, to be posted at store level.
• Conduct safety briefings, with management and employees, and periodically conduct safety checks at store level to ensure that safety procedures are being followed, and that maintenance and temperatures logs are being maintained.
• Supply stores with proper paperwork and forms pertaining to safety policies and procedures.

• Maintain records and files of store safety surveys, maintenance logs, store departments safety procedure sign off's, at Corporate Office. To ensure that CALOSHA requirement are met.
• Maintain spreadsheets on loss runs for Worker's Comp and Public Liability cases, for current and previous years.
• Receive bills from our insurance carriers and attorneys. Review bull with Risk Management Director, and log down amounts on spreadsheets.
• At times attend seminars, conferences, and meetings pertaining Worker's Comp and Public Liability, and safety related subjects.
• As necessary assist the Loss Prevention Department with interviews, investigations, and translations.
• As necessary assume Loss Prevention Department responsibilities, on an emergency situation or when the Loss Prevention Manager is on leave or vacation.
• Conduct on site text scouts with Film Location Scouts and manage on site filming.
• Respond to calls and pager on a 24-hour basis, for normal and emergency reporting from stores and management.
