Located in Santa Cruz for over 30 years, Rainbow Light is a leader in the natural nutritional supplement industry with #1 selling natural women's, men's and prenatal multivitamins nationwide.

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations & Administration, the Project Manager works with cross-functional department leadership, executive team and other stakeholders to effectively manage enterprise-wide projects from start to completion. Develops and refines project planning, execution and control methodologies and processes for key initiatives. Obtains a clear understanding of project scope and objectives and of team member roles and responsibilities; applies standard project management methodology, tools and practices to ensure successful outcomes of projects. Drives and facilitate standardization, process and innovation throughout the enterprise.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

Project Management

  • Leads multiple projects from start to completion, working with project stakeholders to understand project concept, objectives, deliverables, milestones and priorities across the project spectrum; develops and updates project plans including schedules, funding and staffing

  • In partnership with departmental and executive leadership, creates, implements and manages processes that drive quality, efficiency and scale within the organization

  • Develops and updates project plans; sets up and maintains project schedules; sets dates and goals; monitors project progress; anticipates obstacles and makes necessary adjustments to ensure on-time delivery; provides reporting to management on status/progress of projects and barriers to success

  • Manages day-to-day activities of projects; coordinates internal and external customer communication to complete tasks. Manages tasks against multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously which includes: scheduling and facilitating project meetings, developing agendas, providing follow upto help resolve issues. All of which drives actions to on-time completion.

  • Provides project management controls, project plans, timeline schedules, and facilitates communication between team members to meet changing needs and requirements

  • Ensures project documentation is complete, current and stored appropriately

    Miscellaneous

  • Regular travel to parent company, one week per month.

  • Other duties and projects, as assigned, in support of team and Company success

INDICATORS OF SUCCESS/METRICS

  • Company priority projects are managed through execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule and scope

  • Project stakeholders are kept abreast of status, timelines, issues and resolution through project documentation and reporting

  • Measurable process improvement both qualitative and quantitative among key repetitive projects

 
Position Requirements

Education

  • Four year degree in project management or related field preferred

  • Project Management certification (CAPM, PMI, PMP) a plus

  • Process Improvement certification (Six Sigma, Lean) a plus

    Experience

  • 5+ years of related project management experience; experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Deep understanding of project management tools and methodologies

  • Highly developed Microsoft Project skills and related (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and SharePoint)

  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management

  • Demonstrated management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project management and communication skills

  • Experience in CPG or pharma/food environment strongly preferred

    Physical Abilities

  • Works in a standard office environment with heavy computer use

  • Regular travel to parent company
