GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION: Assist the Director and other senior staff and volunteers in carrying out development programs of the national setting of the United Church of Christ by coordinating the work of the Office of Philanthropy and Stewardship, establishing cohesiveness across key development areas, and serving as primary manager for donor relationships and donor stewardship.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
A college degree in a related field or equivalent experience, or a combination of academic study and experience.
Experience in the philosophy and practice of philanthropy in the non-profit sector and demonstrated ability to work in the area of donor recognition strategies.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and diverse personalities.
Commitment to and theological understanding of mission, stewardship and philanthropy.
Understanding of the polity and structures of the United Church of Christ.
Desire and sensitivity to work in diverse racial, ethnic, cultural and religious settings with commitment to diversity in the workplace as well as in one’s understanding of mission.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and collegially as well as independently.
Demonstrated written and oral English language skills.
Computer literate in word processing and database management. Experience with Raiser’s Edge.
Limited travel within the United States.
Demonstrated ability in donor relationships, donor recognition strategies, and donor stewardship.
Demonstrated experience in office coordinator and office management functions.
