Share Email Opening Title Audio/Visual Archives Assistant  Description Position Objective: To assist the audio/visual (A/V) archivist with the organization of photographic and video materials within PETA's digital and physical archives, ensuring long-term preservation and accessibility   Primary Responsibilities and Duties: • Work with the A/V archivist to implement a logical and efficient system for PETA's photo and video archives • Categorize digital photos according to the established organizational hierarchy of the photo library • Append appropriate metadata to digital files to enhance searchability • Work with the A/V archivist to ensure that usage rights for photos and videos are verified and documented • Organize physical photographic and video media to enhance intellectual control of materials and ease of access • Assist with reorganizing the off-site storage archives • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor   Position Requirements • Degree in a related field or two years of experience working in an archives environment • Experience with Mac operating systems • Knowledge of general cataloging principles and best practices for digital images • Demonstrated excellent organizational skills and outstanding attention to detail • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion • Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously • Proven ability to work under tight deadlines in a professional manner • Commitment to the objectives of the organization   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Division PETA Foundation   Location PETA Foundation - Norfolk, VA   This position is currently not accepting applications.
