Institutional Analyst 

About the Organization Salem Community College is a public, two-year comprehensive associate degree granting institution located in southern New Jersey. Established by the Board of Chosen Freeholders in 1972, SCC is authorized to grant associate degrees (A.A., A.S., A.F.A. and A.A.S.) and certificates in over 40 liberal arts, business, practical nursing and technology programs of study. SCC is the only higher educational institution located in Salem County. SCC offers many of its noncredit career programs at its Salem Center which also houses the County's One-Stop Career Center. In addition, the College has three off-site instructional locations dedicated to specific programs.

Salem Community College is fully accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

Description

Role:    Administers, develops, maintains and implements the procedures necessary to ensure the security and integrity of the College’s data.

 

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Completion and submission of all state and federal reporting requirements; including document storage for ease of use and retrieval for assessment and accreditation purposes.
  • Work with administration and staff to create reports that aid in the efficient operation of the college.
  • Development and implementation of custom software solutions (application and web-based) to aid with data collection and 3rd party integration into the existing student management systems.
  • Administer database maintenance and support.
  • Create custom database queries to aid in the collection and analysis of institutional information.
  • Support and manage the data aspects of the current college systems; including term maintenance, course prerequisite creation, assessment rule generation, and registration groups.
  • Provide help-desk support and maintenance of existing college systems as related to the integrity and collection of data.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

 

Experience

One to three years demonstrating the ability to develop and maintain database applications.

 

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.

Interpersonal Skills

Strong and effective interpersonal and communication skills

Technical Skills

Working knowledge of current and emerging computer hardware and software, including software development                 tools and all Microsoft Office products.

Other Skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio, preferable Visual Basic; Microsoft SQL Server, including a mastery of T-SQL; and institutional accounting software, database management, online web applications, and windows-based applications.

 

Physical Requirements

The work is mostly sedentary; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, driving an automobile, etc.  No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

Work Environment

Regular exposure to favorable conditions

such as those found in a normal office.
