What We Are Seeking

We have an immediate need for a IT Operations Manager to manage the full cycle budgetary process for the IT department.   Responsibilities include the management of the budgets, purchase orders, invoices and vendor management within the IT department.  

 
Position Requirements

SUMMARY

 

Reporting to the Office of the CIO, The IT Coordinator will collaborate closely with IT leadership to create or revise IT best practices for the effective management and reporting of IT vendors, Budgets, Accounts Payable, Vendor Performance, and is responsible for managing the full cycle budgetary process for the IT department. Responsibilities include the management of the budgets, purchase orders, invoices, vendor management, and contract administration within the IT department.  This position will also help create consistency of common operations across each IT team and serve as a liaison to other University departments on projects and activities.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide administrative support to assist with the execution of Development, Infrastructure, and InfoSec strategies including tracking of remediation activities.
  • Provides assistance with the reconciliation of IT budgets
  • Manages all purchase orders handled through the IT department
  • Collaborates with leadership and Finance in the creation and management of purchase requisitions
  • Tracks and manages vendor contracts within the IT department
  • Collaborates with leadership to determine the level of vendor performance that is needed
  • Creates and conducts reviews to assess vendor performance, and reports the findings to leadership
  • Responsible for handling all of the invoices for the IT department
  • Manages centralized training budgets/requests for all IT departments
  • Manages travel for IT departments
  • Drives cost reduction/efficiency efforts for the department
  • Provides administrative support to the VP/CIO as needed
  • Reconciles and submits expense reimbursements
  • Manages and coordinates the calendars of IT leadership using Outlook
  • Provides support to IT Committee of the board
  • Organizes team events
  • Drive collaboration with cross functional teams to analyze, discuss, and make recommendations focused on improvement of IT projects, products, services, and processes
  • Coordinates with the teams to help ensure that deadlines are met
  • Assists with the needs and objectives of the IT team as needed

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in the related area
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience with vendor management
  • Willingness to take on new responsibilities and projects with enthusiasm
  • Demonstrated skills in budgeting
  • Fully proficient in IT terms and definitions
  • High level experience in contract management
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to make independent decisions regarding various aspects of IT
  • Demonstrated capability to execute strategic plans and recognize needs and adjust accordingly
  • High level of detail-orientation
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment
