Aircraft Maintenance Technician 

Description

Location: Love Field Dallas, TX.

 

Reports to: Supervisor

 

Brief Job Summary:

 

The ideal candidate would be capable of the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Performs scheduled, unscheduled and special inspections in compliance with regulatory authorities, company and industry requirements and standards.

Troubleshoots, performs inspections, maintenance and repairs on aircraft, engines, propellers and a variety of other systems such as electrical, mechanical, avionics (Com/Nav, Air Data, 91.411/91.413), pitot static systems and hydraulic systems.


Performs repairs to airframes, including sheet metal work, riveting, patching, and fiberglass/composite work.

 

Performs aircraft engine run and taxi, as qualified, to test system performance. Participates in maintenance operational check flights for systems performance, troubleshooting, and alignment.

Performs basic servicing operations of oil, fuel, hydraulic systems, nitrogen and oxygen services.

 

Ensures that calibration of all shop test equipment is current before use and reports discrepancies to supervision.
 

Ensures all documentation relevant to the work performed are accounted for and have been correctly processed with the relevant work order.

 

Makes required work order entries for discrepancies and corrective actions using Corridor or other available software.

Assists and trains other technicians in repair of systems, structures, and engines.

Familiarizes other technicians with aircraft systems in areas of specialty.

 

Job Requirements:  

 

Must be a motivated self-starter that is interested in being part of a cohesive team. Must be capable of functioning on your own with a high degree of punctuality, accountability, skill, confidence and can do attitude. Must be willing to take direction, learn and attend various training events.

 

Technically skilled in the various areas involved in Airframe and Powerplant maintenance. Such as, Air-conditioning, Autopilot, Communication/Navigation, Flight Controls, Fuel, Hydraulic, Anti- ice/De-ice, Landing Gear, Oxygen, Pneumatics, APU, Powerplant, Thrust Reversers, etc.   

 

Strong computer skills – able to use, or learn to use, Corridor software for work orders and labor accounting. Able to navigate to and use server and web based maintenance manuals in a timely fashion.  

 

 

 

 

Qualifications:

 

Valid Airframe and Power Plant certificate is required.

Must supply all tools necessary to perform basic job functions at an above competent level.

Must be able to travel up to 5%.

The ability to obtain a Love Field airport security badge is required.

Education and Experience:

 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), five years related experience on Cessna Citation, Falcon, Gulfstream, Hawkers, King Airs, and similar aircraft. Also experience on PT6, TFE-731, Spey and Pratt & Whitney engines.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
