SUMMARY:

This position requires a self-motivated team member to support Northcentral University’s laptops, desktop computers and user applications. The candidate should possess strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7/8 operating systems, desktop and laptop computers, and printers, scanners, and other peripheral devices. In addition, the candidate should have solid knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and other Windows applications. The candidate should have excellent customer service skills and possess the ability to work independently or as a team.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides initial end-user support for all IT related issues.
  • Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems.
  • Responds to telephone calls, email, and tickets for technical support.
  • Documents, tracks and monitors trouble tickets to ensure a timely resolution.
  • Provides excellent customer service

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates user accounts and maintains end-user security in various systems.
  • Maintains and creates documentation for the Service Desk environment.
  • Assists Desktop Support Specialists with Service Desk related issues.
 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • ITIL V3 Certificate in IT Service Management preferred
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Windows 7/8
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office 2010/2012
  • Solid understanding of Multifunction Printers/Copiers and desktop printers
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Networking
  • Basic understanding of VPN
  • Basic understanding of Macintosh Computers
  • Strong understanding of Web/Videoconferencing Applications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently or as a member of a team

Reports to: Desktop Services Team Lead
