Program Description: Catholic Charities of New Jersey has been awarded a grant to work as a consortium to implement the 2013 Disaster Case Management Services project of the New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Family Development, for families impacted by Hurricane Sandy. This federally funded program will run from April 2013 through October 2014 to provide time-limited case management to survivors of Hurricane Sandy. Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton is the Managing Agency, and had partnered with the other four Catholic Charities of the Dioceses of Camden, Metuchen, Paterson and the Archdiocese of Newark. Consortium members collectively serve residents of all 21 counties in New Jersey. POSITION: Construction Cost Analyst Job Summary: Responsible for analyzing, estimating, negotiating and settling with contractor and or volunteer groups any residential property losses caused by Hurricane Sandy. Reports To: Program Director Duties and Responsibilities: • Analyze contractor estimates, reviews and develops estimates for property damage and compares his/her estimates with contractor estimates to ensure clients are receiving fair and equitable treatment from private contractors • Analyze reports to determine nature and extent of loss, type of insurance coverage provided, scope of damage and will determine if damage is due to the recent hurricane or deferred maintenance or a combination of both • Coordinate with case managers and home owners to ensure contractors utilized will perform to preset criteria, meeting all applicable local and federal building codes • Inspect and document damage, meet with insured or their representative, promptly and properly develop the file to provide accurate and timely investigation and loss analysis • Maintain and monitor diary to achieve timely development of file and timely files reports on projects • Recognize and pursue recovery where possible • Adhere to all statutory regulations and unfair claim practices act |
