What We Are Looking For:

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst with Birst experience to join our team.

The Business Intelligence Analyst will be an integral member of the Reporting and Data Analytics team.  The analyst guides ad hoc & ongoing decision support to senior management by engaging in data analysis and reporting to support strategic objectives. The analyst will lead in the development and maintenance of reporting warehouses to support data initiatives. Northcentral is implementing a new business intelligence system; the Business Intelligence Analyst will be the subject matter expert on the creation of data warehousing, development of KPIs and interactive dashboards, and guide best practices for the implementation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Guide leaders in development of meaningful analytics and KPIs using best practices
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders on needs
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy and timeliness of all data within the reporting suite through data modeling and report and dashboard creation
  • Act as lead in the creation and maintenance of the underlying data warehouse structure within the Birst BI platform
  • Organize, refine, and catalogue disparate data sets in order to blend various data streams into the organization’s reporting environment
  • Provide analysis of historical data revealing trends, exceptions, and future opportunities
  • Provide ad hoc reporting to support strategic initiatives
  • Develop reporting tools via Birst, SSRS, and Excel
  • Maintain Ad Hoc tables, report scheduling, and test and promote dashboards and reports
  • Identify key insights & ensure integrity, timing, and accuracy of results
  • Act in both a leadership role and direct contributor role.
  • Provide training / mentoring for all BI functional, power and end users.
 
Position Requirements

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience in the creation and maintenance of data warehouses and data modeling, including knowledge of best practices and documentation. Experience in Birst is highly preferred or commensurate experience in warehousing and data modeling is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience designing, implementing and maintaining complex data visualizations and dashboards. Experience in Birst is highly preferred or commensurate experience in BI and data visualization tools and data warehouse design (such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, ClickView, Business Objects, etc.) is required.  
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience with BI report-writing tools: SQL, Business Objects, Birst, Tableau, etc.
  • Have experience in recommending the appropriate dashboard functionality to meet business visualization needs and have strong experience managing data sources to refresh the dashboard.
