Description

General Summary:  Primary Responsibilities: 

  1. Model a high energy, world-class service culture within the credit union.
  2. Develop and deepen relationships with members and potential members.
  3. Provide leadership and referrals to other business areas of the credit union.
  4. Responsible for the service and growth of a profitable business loan portfolio.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Live the Kohler Credit Union Mission, Vision and Values within the organization and our communities.
  2. Instill an energetic, world-class service culture that continually strives to improve the way we serve our members and potential members.
  3. Call on new and existing members to develop new and deeper relationships that will increase the profitability within the credit union; refer opportunities to other business areas of the credit union.
  4. Originate and underwrite commercial loans within credit union policies. Prepare participation arrangements as needed. Work with SBA and other government agencies as appropriate. Ability to make safe and sound loan approval decisions.
  5. Responsible for creation and retention of all necessary documents and reports related to business banking.
  6. Provide reports, statistics, and analysis to department and senior management as needed.
  7. Responsible for compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements as well as with requirements that apply to specific business banking programs or vendors.
  8. Maintain current knowledge of general market and economic conditions relating to business lending.
  9. Maintain awareness of competitors' rates, fees, terms, and programs relating to business lending.
  10. Represent credit union in various business, trade, civic, charity, and social organizations to support community and provide positive public relations.
  11. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or deemed necessary in order to meet the department and credit union’s goals and objectives.
 

Position Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Passionate and enthusiastic
  2. Strong communication skills
  3. World-class Integrity Service Skills
  4. Skilled in Microsoft Office applications
  5. Knowledge of business loan policy, credit structuring and underwriting, financial analysis, legal and regulatory compliant loan documentation
  6. Knowledge of SBA and other credit enhancement programs highly desired.
  7. Knowledge and ability to use intermediate math (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.).
  8. Ability to travel within membership area to see business clients and attend local/regional educational seminars.
  9. Ability to be flexible, prioritize, organize and multi-task.
  10. Ability to be a professional with well-developed interpersonal skills essential for carrying out business banking functions, client relationships, and for projecting a positive image as representative of the credit union.

 

Education and Experience:

This position requires a bachelor's degree in business, finance or a related field and at least two years of experience in commercial lending at a financial institution. A proven track record of business development and successful portfolio management is preferred.

 

Employees must comply with government and other regulations affecting the credit union industry including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act and The USA Patriot Act.
