We are seeking a Business Objects Administrator/Developer. This is a technical hands-on position for a self-motivated administrator/developer who will be an integral part of our business intelligence team. The team is responsible for supporting critical business reporting systems in a 24/7 global SAP business warehouse environment. This position requires hands on experience in designing, developing, and supporting complex systems and the ability to work with business users and technical support personnel

Job responsibilities include:

  • Provide expertise for the Business Objects Enterprise (BOE) platform and related systems.
  • Design, install, and configure BOE systems for optimal performance.
  • Perform BOE maintenance including version upgrades, service packs, and patches.
  • Perform BOE management functions including monitoring, performance analysis, and tuning.  
  • Perform BOE triage, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.
  • Manage and maintain BOE Security and access levels for LDAP, AD, and SAP.
  • Design and build BOE Universes utilizing multi-providers in SAP business warehouse setting.   
  • Create and maintain BOE procedures for daily operations, systems backup, and recovery. 
  • Participate in 24/7 technical support for the BOE Platform.
  • Interact with business users and technicians to meet BOE business/technical requirements.  
Position Requirements
  • 5+ years proven hands-on BOE technical experience in systems administration and development 
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Some weekend and evening hours required
  • Some travel – up to 10%
  • Proof of authorization to work in the United States


  • Experience with BOE 4.0 and Data Services 4.1 platforms
  • Experience with DB2 and SQL Server 2008+  
  • Experience with developing SQL queries
  • Experience with BOE mobility platform
  • Experience with BOE clustering of components for resilience and load balancing 
  • Working knowledge of BEX and SAP Business Warehouse components
  • Working knowledge of Tomcat and Java administration
  • General knowledge of networks including LDAP, Active Directory, and TCP/IP
