Position: Desktop Support - Field Technician

Responsibilities:

This is a request for a full time position in Columbus, Ohio. This is a 9:00am - 6:00pm (EST) M-F position with possible overtime based on contractual obligations.

The candidate must possess the Comptia A+ certification and will need to have knowledge of Hewlett Packard printer and multi-function print device hardware break-fix troubleshooting and repair. Additional knowledge of Hewlett Packard, Lenovo/IBM, and Dell Desktop/Laptop computer hardware break-fix and troubleshooting required, but not necessary to fulfill this position. Candidate will be performing hardware troubleshooting and repair on all Hewlett Packard print devices in the Columbus, Dublin, Gahanna, and Westerville region. Some travel may be required, estimated at no more than 20%.

Candidate will be responsible for completing tickets utilizing the client's ticketing systems within established Service Level Agreements (SLA) providing accurate, detailed, and timely updates to all assigned tickets, placing part orders with various vendors, receiving and shipping of parts ordered, and other duties as assigned. In addition to these duties, the candidate could also perform hardware troubleshooting and break-fix on Hewlett Packard, Lenovo/IBM, and Dell desktop and laptop PCs.

This is a client facing position which requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to work well as an individual and in a team environment, following documented policies and procedures. Be a fast learner and highly reliable.

 

 

 

Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Able to manage multiple issues simultaneously.
  • Must be able to communicate technical issues to non-technical audiences.
  • Operates well in a fast paced/high stress environment.
  • Functional knowledge using and troubleshooting Windows XP/7 Operating System, Microsoft Office 2007/2010, Internet, printer, core applications and networks.
  • Solid hardware and software trouble-shooting/resolution skills.
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Must be able to navigate and troubleshoot desktop issues in a locked down environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Organized and detailed communication with excellent people skills.
  • Experience with client escalation and problem management.
  • Scripting Experience.
  • Microsoft Desktop Support Certifications.
  • 2-4 years Desktop Support Experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Candidates should have a large scale enterprise support experience.
