For more than 30 years, we've helped clients understand state and local policy, build relationships, and advance their priorities. We're hiring a Regional Government Affairs Manager to support client work across Western and Midwestern states. You'll work on a range of technology policy issues, partner closely with colleagues across the country, and help clients respond to fast-moving developments in state legislatures and agencies. The compensation range for this position is $160,000 - $190,000. This is a remote position. Essential Duties: Track legislation, regulations, and political developments across multiple Western and Midwestern states, identifying what matters for each client and why. Work across a range of issues, including artificial intelligence, data privacy, content moderation, and energy policy. Help develop state-specific advocacy plans that reflect client goals, local dynamics, and the broader policy landscape. Draft bill analyses, policy recommendations, testimony, talking points, and proposed legislative language. Build and maintain relationships with legislators, agency officials, staff, and other policy stakeholders. Coordinate with contract lobbyists to keep advocacy efforts aligned and clients informed. Collaborate with regional managers, analysts, and other Stateside colleagues to share intelligence, solve problems, and deliver consistent support across states. Prepare weekly updates and brief clients and internal teams on developments, risks, and opportunities. Travel for legislative meetings, hearings, conferences, and client engagements as needed.   Position Requirements Approximately 5–8 years of experience in government affairs, technology policy, law, state government, or regulatory affairs. Experience following or working on legislation in more than one state. Strong writing and judgment, with the ability to turn complex policy developments into clear recommendations. An interest in working across several issues and adapting to different state political environments. A collaborative approach and comfort working with colleagues, clients, and external partners.
