Major responsibilities include (not all inclusive): Execute a comprehensive physical readiness program designed to improve Soldier performance and reduce injury rates, in alignment with the Army's Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) doctrine. This program requires a multi-tiered approach, encompassing mandatory remedial support for personnel who fail readiness standards, medically supervised reconditioning for injured Service Members, and voluntary wellness coaching for the entire military family. Mandatory ACFT/AFFT Remedial Program: For any Service Member for whom a referral is initiated within the contractor's software by the Service Member or an authorized Government representative for failing a record physical fitness assessment (e.g., Army Combat Fitness Test, Air Force Fitness Assessment), the Exercise Specialist shall conduct an initial intake assessment within seven (7) business days. Following the intake, the contractor shall develop a tailored, written ACFT/AFFT "Get-Well" Plan within ten (10) business days after assessment, actively manage the case through continuous coaching, and formally close the case only upon receiving official unit notification that the Service Member has successfully passed a record fitness test. Voluntary Household Wellness Plan: Upon request from an eligible beneficiary (to include Service Members, immediate family members, or eligible federal employees), the Exercise Specialist shall conduct a personal wellness needs assessment. Within ten (10) business days of the assessment, the specialist shall develop a tailored Voluntary Household Wellness Plan and upload it to the treatment notes system. This plan shall be designed to support the individual’s or the family unit's collective health and fitness goals (e.g., cardiovascular health, general strength training, and lifestyle improvement) and is strictly distinct from the mandatory, mission-oriented remedial physical training programs. Promotional Content Generation: To support the program's broader outreach strategy, the Exercise Specialist shall develop and provide one piece of subject matter expert (SME) content to the CM on a weekly basis. This content shall be suitable for a general military audience and may include topics such as ACFT preparation tips, injury prevention techniques, or functional fitness spotlights. Profile Reconditioning and Return-to-Duty: The Exercise Specialist will provide safe, evidence-based physical reconditioning coaching for Service Members on active medical profiles. Mandatory Safeguard: Prior to commencing any physical training, the contractor must first obtain a copy of the official medical profile, (e.g., DA Form 3349) and a signed medical clearance from the Service Member’s credentialed military or civilian medical provider. All subsequent training plans developed by the contractor must strictly adhere to the exact limitations documented by the medical provider and will not be independently interpreted, diagnosed, or modified. Skills / Certifications: Must possess and maintain active, nationally recognized credentials demonstrating expertise in tactical, strength, conditioning, and military physical readiness. Hold a current certification as a Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F) or Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Shall maintain a current American Heart Association First Aid and CPR certification. Qualifications: Must demonstrate comprehensive, working knowledge of Army Field Manual (FM) 7-22 (Holistic Health and Fitness) to effectively prepare personnel for all events of the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT). Must possess an operational understanding of Army Regulation (AR) 600-9 (The Army Body Composition Program), including the methodology and calculations required for circumference-based tape assessments, in order to advise personnel and command leadership on strategies for maintaining strict compliance with established height, weight, and body fat standards. Demonstrated experience conducting fitness assessments and developing individualized strength, conditioning, and wellness programs. Knowledge of injury prevention, movement quality, mobility, recovery, and safe exercise progression for adult populations. Ability to work effectively with military personnel, geographically dispersed participants, and interdisciplinary readiness teams. Strong communication, documentation, presentation, and organizational skills. Ability to pass any required background, security, facility access, or contract compliance requirements.
