Family Development Specialist needed for Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire role in Philadelphia County
We are seeking a Family Development Specialist to recruit, assess, train, and certify prospective foster and kinship families. This role is responsible for completing home studies, family and kinship assessments, recertifications, home safety evaluations, and all required documentation while ensuring compliance with Pennsylvania foster care regulations. The Family Development Specialist also facilitates pre-certification training, participates in an after-hours admissions rotation, presents families for approval, and collaborates with internal staff and community partners throughout the certification process.
The ideal candidate will build strong relationships with prospective resource families, provide guidance throughout the approval process, identify family strengths and areas for growth, maintain accurate electronic records, and complete reports and assessments within required timelines. The position requires strong interviewing, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, along with the ability to work effectively with families, county agencies, and service providers.

BSW required with experience in child welfare, case management, foster care, or working with children and families is preferred. A valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle are required, as travel throughout the community is part of the position. |
