Manager, Clinical Congregate Care

Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Salary: $68,000 - $86,000 annually

Role Overview

An Illinois-based organization whose mission is to support children and families facing life's challenges through compassionate care is seeking a clinical leader to guide the therapeutic direction of their residential and transitional living programs. This role is the clinical backbone of the residential service programs, ideal for a licensed or license-eligible clinician who excels at balancing direct care, staff leadership, regulatory compliance, and systems-level impact to support behaviorally complex youth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Leadership: Recruit, supervise, coach, and evaluate residential and transitional living therapists.

  • Treatment Coordination: Oversee treatment planning, lead monthly clinical staffings, and collaborate with schools and case managers to ensure timely community reintegration.

  • Compliance & Quality: Review case notes and documentation to ensure strict compliance with Medicaid billing.

  • Crisis & Culture Management: Promote CARE principles and TCI practices, assist with crisis de-escalation, and step in to support staff during complex situations.

 
Position Requirements

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in Social Work.

  • Experience: 2+ years of clinical experience in high-acuity youth settings (e.g., congregate care, therapeutic schools). Supervisory and residential experience preferred.

  • Licensure: Eligibility for licensure (LCSW) required; active license highly preferred.

  • Skills: Strong working knowledge of trauma-informed care; ability to become TCI certified and serve as a CARE/TCI trainer.

  • Other: Must be 21+ with a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and DCFS/CANTS clearance eligibility.
