Share Email Opening Apply Now Title Software Developer  Description Unreal Engine Software Developer (Modeling & Simulation) Develop and maintain real-time simulation software using Unreal Engine for aviation training and mission rehearsal systems supporting programs at Naval Air Station Patuxent River. Collaborate with the Visual Systems Team to integrate real-time graphics, Image Generators (IG), and out-the-window (OTW) visual environments used in piloted simulation systems. Design and implement high-fidelity 3D environments, aircraft models, terrain databases, and visual effects to support immersive simulation scenarios. Develop and optimize real-time rendering pipelines, shaders, and performance tuning to ensure stable frame rates and low latency for piloted simulators. Integrate Unreal-based visualization with simulation frameworks, avionics models, and external data interfaces used in training and engineering simulators. Support visual database development and maintenance, including terrain generation, texturing, lighting, and environmental effects for OTW systems. Participate in system integration, test events, and troubleshooting within laboratory and simulator environments supporting aviation modeling and simulation programs.   Position Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. Experience with Unreal Engine, demonstrated through significant undergraduate development projects or professional/post-graduate development experience. Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Unreal Blueprints, with experience developing interactive or real-time applications. Experience or familiarity with 3D graphics, game engines, modeling pipelines, or real-time visualization systems (e.g., shaders, rendering pipelines, or simulation visualization tools).   Salary Range 80K-150K and will commensurate with experience   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Level of Clearance Required Secret Eligible   Amount of Travel Occasional   About the Organization J.F.
