JFT is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Lab Manager supporting a classified lab utilized by multiple programs near the Patuxent Naval Air Station. This role is responsible for the end-to-end management, coordination, and operational oversight of a secure lab environment supporting NAVAIR simulation and system integration efforts.

The Lab Manager will lead day-to-day operations, ensuring effective coordination between three separate NAVAIR simulation programs, while maintaining strict compliance with cybersecurity, network, and facility security requirements. This position requires a balance of technical knowledge, operational planning, asset scheduling, and stakeholder coordination/communication with direct impact on mission-critical systems with national security implications.

The environment supports software integration, testing, pilot evaluation of system performance, system-of-systems integration testing,  The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience within a classified lab environment, ability to manage complex lab operations, schedules, and infrastructure growth, including the build-out of additional secure spaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee daily operations of a classified lab, utilized by multiple projects, including personnel coordination amongst network, software, and test teams.
  • Develop and manage integrated lab schedules, including test events, system integration activities, and multi-program usage
  • Coordinate construction and stand-up of additional secure lab spaces, ensuring alignment with security, accreditation, and operational requirements
  • Track and control hardware assets entering and exiting lab environments, ensuring compliance with configuration management and security protocols
  • Be aware of compliance requirements and security personnel involved with DoD cybersecurity, network accreditation, and physical security requirements (e.g., RMF, classified environments, CUI handling as applicable)
  • Serve as primary interface with government POCs, program leadership, and engineering teams to align lab operations with program objectives
  • Establish, maintain, and update lab policies, processes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Monitor lab infrastructure and equipment to ensure operational readiness, configuration control, and lifecycle management
 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related technical discipline, or additional years of experience in a classified lab environment
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience, including:
    • Laboratory or test environment operations, or
    • Hands-on experience with aircraft systems, avionics integration, or network operations
  • Strong understanding of DoD lab environments, including security, safety, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with technical teams, leadership, and government stakeholders
  • Experience coordinating complex schedules, multi-team access, and shared technical environments
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
 
Salary Range 80K-120K and will be commensurate with experience  
Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time  
Level of Clearance Required Top Secret
