SUMMARY
First Security Bank is seeking a professional, energetic, and team-oriented individual to join our team as Retail Banking Supervisor! If you are passionate about serving our Arkansas communities and want to be part of a dynamic, service-driven team, we encourage you to apply!

In this role, you will collaborate with branch leadership to maintain a high level of service quality, operational accuracy, and branch productivity. This position requires on-site work.

QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION | EXPERIENCE | SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily. The items listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities necessary for this position.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associates and/or bachelor’s degree related to business and/or finance preferred.
  • Completion of Retail Banking Specialist 3 checklist (internal) required; or
  • 2 - 3 years’ general banking experience with an understanding of Retail Banking Specialist functions required.
  • Completion of Retail checklists through Supervisor level within 1 year required.
  • 1-2 years supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, typing, 10-key, and utilization of the internet is required.
  • Commitment to demonstrating Core 5 values with customers and coworkers.

HOURS OF AVAILABILITY: Regularly Scheduled Hours/Week: 40(+) | Monday – Friday 7:45am - 5:30pm | Saturdays 8:45am - 12:00pm (typically 2 per month) | *Extended working hours may be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Train and develop retail staff on bank protocols, operational processes, policies, and procedures.
  2. Foster a positive work environment that supports exceptional service, employee engagement, and strong customer relationships.
  3. Empower team members to achieve individual and banking center goals.
  4. Support the BCM with weekly huddles, staffing schedules, daily task organization, and operational updates.
  5. Perform and oversee essential retail duties, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and service standards.
  6. Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve escalated or complex customer complaints with professionalism and tact.
  7. Monitor and enforce physical security procedures; report concerns to the Security team.
  8. Review fraudulent or suspicious activity, adhering to SAR/CTR requirements, and inform the BCM of concerns.
  9. Monitor wire transfers and ensure accuracy and compliance.
  10. Maintain audit controls, complete monthly Retail Banker/Banking Center audits, and mitigate operational risk.
  11. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including BSA, Regulation CC, Regulation E, and Fair Lending.
  12. Support communication between the banking center, leadership, and other departments to ensure alignment with directives and initiatives.
  13. Review daily reports, resolve outstanding maintenance issues, and assist in developing banking center objectives and supporting programs.
  14. Complete advanced service requests such as redeeming U.S. Savings Bonds, closing accounts, processing check orders, foreign currency exchange, safe-deposit box procedures, and account research.
  15. Responsible for opening and maintaining customer accounts while providing operational support by pulling and balancing teller drawers when necessary.
  16. Protect all customer information and bank operations through strict confidentiality.
  17. Operate computer software and equipment, telephone, scanner, and copier, and develop proficiency with internal banking systems.
  18. Maintain reliable transportation, punctual attendance, and the ability to work on-site with extended hours when necessary.
  19. Attend various retail training classes and perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  20. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Serves as the acting leader in the absence of the BCM, making operational decisions to ensure continuity of branch operations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Possess sufficient mobility to work in a standard office setting. Perform repetitive hand, arm, wrist, and finger movements while handling currency, documents, and/or office equipment. Substantial time may be spent on the telephone, operating computers, reaching, sitting, and/or standing while occasionally stooping, kneeling, or crouching. The employee must have the ability to speak and hear well enough to carry on customer interactions, conversations, and presentations both in person and over telecommunications. Have near/far visual acuity to identify customers, currency, and reading materials in printed or electronic formats. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds.

MENTAL DEMANDS
The duties of this position require strong independent problem-solving skills to manage multiple projects and their accurate and timely completion. Able to interact with and lead others in a calm and patient manner; maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all situations. Able to analyze information, evaluate options, and make sound judgements in a timely manner. Strong mathematical competency related to currency, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. This position also requires the ability to read and interpret documents, draft instructions or presentations, and articulate complex information in written or oral form.
