Position Maintenance Supervisor, Attractions  
Description

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for implementing maintenance activities in accordance with manufacturer and ASTM F24 requirements. This role also includes managing customer relationships, ensuring guest and team member safety, and overseeing training and team member development. This leader will assist oversee and perform maintenance for all AREA15 attractions. This individual will also help manage both short and long-term projects, develop and execute long-range spending plans, and ensure ride compliance with all applicable ASTM F24 and local regulations.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Lead and ensure the ongoing safety, efficiency, reliability, and availability of all amusement rides and attractions in full compliance with manufacturer requirements, regulatory standards, and company policies.
  • Supervise and help oversee the maintenance, performance, and uptime of all arcade games and interactive entertainment equipment, ensuring proper operation, routine inspections, and timely repairs.
  • Supervise the upkeep and safe operation of tram vehicles, including preventive maintenance planning, diagnostics oversight, repair coordination, and compliance with all transportation and safety regulations.
  • Help develop, implement, and enforce departmental policies and procedures to enhance safety practices, maximize attraction availability, and improve preventive maintenance strategies and overall performance.
  • Provide strong day-to-day leadership support to maintenance staff by promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence while ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, local laws, manufacturer guidelines, and industry best practices.
  • Help plan coordinate and supervise ride repairs, preventive maintenance, and rehabilitation projects, ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with technical standards and timelines.
  • Oversee the documentation, accuracy, and retention of all ride inspections (daily, weekly, monthly, annual) to ensure full regulatory and internal compliance.
  • Ensure timely completion of housekeeping, cleaning, and regulatory maintenance tasks while proactively identifying, addressing, and escalating equipment concerns or abnormal conditions.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report key departmental metrics including inventory usage, compliance status, maintenance schedules, and equipment performance; take corrective actions as needed.
  • Lead the resolution of ride maintenance issues, employee concerns, and special projects to maintain optimal attraction performance and enhance the guest experience.
  • Enforce all AREA15 policies and procedures, including safety, attendance, EEO, and customer service standards, serving as a role model for professionalism and accountability.
  • Maintain and enforce professional appearance and conduct standards across the maintenance team.
  • Assist with training, coaching, and performance management for maintenance team members, fostering skill development, accountability, and career growth.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Facilities, and external vendors to ensure seamless communication and optimal functionality of all attractions and systems.
  • Report any mechanic abnormalities to management in a timely manner with high sense of urgency.
  • Respond to time sensitive matters.
  • Demonstrate ART! (AREA15's service standards) in every guest interaction.
  • Adhere to department and company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a professional, polished appearance in line with AREA15 standards.
  • Work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Comfortable working in a creative, entrepreneurial start-up environment, introducing new concepts and innovations.
  • At least 1-2 years experience in the mechanical maintenance of rides and amusement devices or PLC driven heavy manufacturing equipment.
  • Extensive knowledge of Amusement Industry standards and practices including ASTM F2291, F1193 and F770.
  • 1 year of leadership experience in a maintenance environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated skills in effective budget and scheduling management.
  • Decision maker with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Proven skills in identifying and developing leaders.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a multi-disciplined, diverse technical team.
  • Strong listening, communication and social skills
  • Extensive and demonstrable knowledge of the maintenance, repair and rehabilitation of gearboxes, drivetrains, large bearings, gears, conveyors, engineered chains, sprockets, hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to understand, speak, read, and write the English language.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft applications. (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
  • Availability for varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in an environment subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, flashing lights, and smoke.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions including but not limited to extreme heat, sun exposure, wind, rain, extreme cold.
