Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC (DRM) – one of Northern New England’s largest and most respected law firms – is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our collaborative accounting team located in St. Johnsbury, Vermont or Lebanon, New Hampshire office.
The Billing Specialist ensures timely processing of client billing and related accounting activities. This role involves working with the accounting team to coordinate the monthly billing cycle, maintain accurate financial records, and supporting attorneys and firm management with billing information and account inquires.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and issue client invoices in coordination with billing attorneys.
- Maintain trust accounting records in accordance with the state ethics rules and firm policies.
- Verify general ledger coding and client matter accuracy.
- Respond promptly to attorney and client inquiries regarding billing and account details.
- Handle confidential information with discretion and accuracy.
- Assist with additional accounting duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of billing or accounting experience (law firm experience is a plus).
- Strong proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills; able to manage a high volume of transactions accurately.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
- Strong mathematical aptitude and general accounting knowledge.

The expected pay range is $50,700-$54,600 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
