A large, well-established nonprofit organization seeks an experienced Senior Director to provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple community-based programs serving individuals with complex needs.

This senior leadership role oversees several programs and works collaboratively with cross-functional leadership teams to ensure high-quality service delivery, regulatory compliance, and strong operational performance. The position offers an opportunity to lead multidisciplinary teams, strengthen program effectiveness, and contribute to organizational planning and growth initiatives.

 

Position Overview

The Senior Director is responsible for the overall management and performance of multiple program sites, including staff leadership, program operations, budget oversight, and continuous quality improvement. The role partners closely with organizational leadership in areas such as compliance, planning, evaluation, and finance to support effective program outcomes.

This position is primarily site-based, with limited hybrid flexibility available following an initial onboarding period. Program locations are accessible via public transportation and car within New York City.

 

Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership and supervision to program management staff across multiple sites

Oversee daily operations, program performance, and service quality

Manage complex program budgets and ensure fiscal accountability

Support compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements

Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic planning and program development

Promote staff development, team cohesion, and strong organizational culture

 

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $100,000–$110,000, depending on experience

Position Requirements

LMSW required

Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in human services or community-based programs

At least 3 years supervising managers or overseeing multiple programs

Experience managing multi-site operations and complex budgets

Knowledge of housing or community service systems strongly preferred

Strong leadership, organizational, and collaboration skills
