We are seeking a temporary full-time physiotherapist to provide care to clients admitted to the Inpatient Rehabilitation and Complex Continuing Care (CCC) programs. This is a float position, involving work in multiple units: Specialized Orthopedic and Developmental Rehab (SODR),  Brain Injury Rehabilitation Team (BIRT), and Complex Continuing Care (CCC)  with the opportunity to work with clients and families navigating a range of care needs. Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients and families to develop and implement individualized, client centered goals with clear and measurable outcomes.
  • Complete physiotherapy assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans in accordance with hospital policies and professional practice standards.
  • Work closely with members of the interprofessional care team and community providers to support coordinated and integrated care.
  • Monitor progress using outcome measures and adjust interventions to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
  • By using critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills, apply current research and evidence informed practice in clinical decision making.
  • Provide education and support to clients, families, students, and colleagues through formal and informal teaching opportunities.
  • Deliver direct clinical services and consultation to maximize clients’ physical functioning and participation.
  • Support the physical, psychosocial, and emotional well being of clients and families throughout the inpatient rehabilitation process.
  • Support transition planning and discharge to home and community services through collaboration with clients, families, and community providers.
  • Practice in accordance with organizational policies and the standards of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and promote a safe, healthy, and client and family centered work environment with a strong focus on safety.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Physiotherapy or Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated skills in physiotherapy assessment and treatment of children and youth with a variety of conditions.
  • Demonstrated competence in evidence informed physiotherapy and interprofessional practice, including the use of appropriate practice models and outcome measures relevant to a pediatric rehabilitation population.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage changing clinical demands in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills to meet the needs of clients, families, and members of the interprofessional care team.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within an interprofessional team environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence informed practice.
  • Ability to meet the physical and emotional demands of working in a pediatric inpatient rehabilitation environment.
