Safety Manager

Description

Ensures that all areas of the property are inspected to ensure the safety and wellbeing for all. Assists with the day to day operation and direct supervision of all activities within the Security department. Ensure daily operations and experiences meet guest expectations. Appropriately respond to and manage any escalated departmental concerns and guest and/or employee challenges.

  • Hire, train, develop, measure performance, discipline, and schedule department staff.
  • Lead the tactical execution of strategic initiatives under the direction of division leadership.
  • Establish standards of service within assigned department(s) and ensure achievement.
  • Monitor and control labor within the department while maintaining adequate coverage in the department based on business demands.
  • Administer all mandated safety programs and maintain precise records as to what subjects have been taught.
  • Keep records of all Team Members who have been trained and administer timely updates on safety issues.
  • Review safety videos, literature, and remain current with safety regulatory changes.
  • Coordinate C.P.R. and First Responder trainings and all OSHA-mandated programs for the property.
  • Manage all safety meetings and keep minutes of all meetings.
  • Organize a Safety Committee to meet once a month.
  • Demonstrate a positive, helpful attitude toward customers and fellow team members. Show a genuine enthusiasm for working in the hospitality/casino industry and/or working with the public.
  • Provide outstanding customer service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 
Position Requirements

Qualifications

  • College Associates degree and/or equivalent combination of knowledge and experience.
  • Five (5) years of experience in a related field.
  • Certified on OSHA standards.
  • Certified in handling Bio-Hazards.
  • Computer literate –required when writing reports with Security systems.
  • Ability to express self in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to respond to complaints and be able to resolve them in a safe, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Ability to understand the (MICS) Minimum Internal Control Standards of the company.
  • Ability to handle complaints with sensitivity.
  • Knowledge of the Laws of Detention.
  • The primary language spoken and written is English. Must have the ability to read and interpret written Rules and Regulations.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to certify the completion of a job or task.
  • Ability to behave with integrity at all times.
  • Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company.
  • Verify right to work in the United States.

Physical Requirements

  • Typically walking, running, stooping of assigned patrol area. Standing and or walking up to a 100% of their shift.
  • Occasionally sitting at desk.
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in smokey, noisy environment with bright lights.
  • Work for sustained periods of time maintaining concentrated attention to detail.
  • Regularly works in extreme conditions of cold, hot, damp, wet and/or dry environments.
  • Vision, hearing, speech and literacy (critical).
  • Good vision or have corrective lenses so as to have 20/20 vision.

Work Environment Potential Conditions

The immediate work environment is smoke free, however a smoking environment does exist in the building.
