SUMMARY
First Security Bank is seeking a professional, energetic and team-oriented individual to join our team as a Trust Compliance Officer! If you are passionate about serving our Arkansas communities and want to be part of a dynamic, service-driven team, we encourage you to apply!

In this role, you will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and providing input and administering the Trust Compliance Management programs to ensure the bank trust department complies with all applicable trust compliance regulations. This position requires on-site work.

QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION | EXPERIENCE | SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The items listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities necessary for this position.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2-3 years of relevant professional experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the trust regulatory requirements related to the origination and servicing of trust products, including knowledge of federal and state trust rules and regulations preferred.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, typing, 10-key, and internet navigation required.
  • Commitment to demonstrate Core 5 values with customers and coworkers.

HOURS OF AVAILABILITY: Regularly Scheduled Hours/Week: 40 hours | Monday – Thursday: 7:45am – 4:30pm | Friday: 7:45am-5:00pm | Extended working hours may be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develop relationships of trust and confidence with designated lines of business.
  2. Keep up to date on new laws and regulations.
  3. Research and interpret applicable federal, state, banking, and trust laws and regulations; support their effective implementation and ensure alignment with strategic risk-management objectives.
  4. Assist with corporate policy and training development.
  5. Assist in overseeing actions of comprehensive self-testing, independent third party and regulatory audits.
  6. Prepare for trust audits/exams, coordinate responses to auditors and regulators, and ensure timely remediation of identified deficiencies.
  7. Proactively identify process improvements or control gaps and facilitate necessary changes.
  8. Ensure compliance risks are effectively identified, measured, monitored, controlled, and are consistent with the bank’s risk appetite statement and all policies and processes are established within the risk governance framework.
  9. Assist in drafting responses to regulatory inquiries and internal audit and regulators’ information requests.
  10. Participate in the review of new products, services, and pricing.
  11. Educate and provide consultative advice on related regulations.
  12. Identify and assess key compliance risks.
  13. Conduct targeted reviews and additional risk-assessment activities as needed.
  14. Maintain strict confidentiality to protect customer information and bank operations.
  15. Operate computer software and equipment, telephone, scanner, copier, and develop proficiency with internal banking systems. Required to gain knowledge including but not limited to: privacy, safeguarding customer information, trust compliance and trust regulations.
  16. Maintain a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and punctual attendance. This position requires regular collaboration with coworkers, the ability to work occasional extended hours to meet customer needs, and business travel using a personal vehicle.
  17. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee must possess sufficient mobility to work in and move about in a standard office setting and sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment. Substantial time may be spent on the telephone and working on a computer, sitting and/or standing. Possess ability to work a variety of hours in order to accommodate events. Ability to hold a valid driver’s license and possess a vehicle that can be used for business travel purposes. The employee must have the ability to hear and articulate well enough to carry on a normal conversation, both in person and over the telephone. Visual abilities required by this job include the ability to read materials in either a printed format or on a computer screen. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 10 pounds.

MENTAL DEMANDS
The duties of this position require the ability to maintain attention to detail and complete work projects accurately in a short amount of time, despite interruptions. The employee must be able to interact with customers/coworkers in a calm and patient manner and maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all situations. The employee must be able to use basic mathematical skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing numbers. The position requires the ability to read, interpret and comprehend complex documents along with the ability to draft and execute detailed written or oral instructions.
