Your role in helping us shape the future:

As an intern in our Consumer Advice-Education vertical, you'll work with a great team to report and write articles that help readers around the world understand how to prepare for, pay for, and succeed in higher education endeavors. You'll learn a lot about our unique and highly respected brand of advice journalism, and the tools and strategies that power a major media brand on the cutting edge of the information age.

Are you up to the challenge?

  • Write advice-oriented, evergreen education articles

  • Identify and catalog articles that need to be updated

  • Write occasional advice articles based on news of the day

  • Actively and enthusiastically participate in trainings and team activities

 
Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Eligible candidates must be one of the following:

  • Part-time or full-time students who have completed 48+ credit hours (rising juniors/seniors and graduate students) and are enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited college or university

  • Part-time or full-time students enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited college or university

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, professionalism and maturity in the workplace

  • Effective communicator in both written and spoken English

  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in use of MSOffice Suite and Google Docs

  • 3.0 GPA or above preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Journalism or related major

2. Reporting experience

3. Strong writing skills

Summer Intern Program Description:

  • 10 weeks; starting on Monday, June 1, 2026 through Friday, Aug 7, 2026

  • We expect interns to work 37.5 hours/week, Monday- Friday

  • All candidates must be able to work a hybrid in-office work schedule from our Washington, DC or New York offices

  • Internship pays $17.50 per hour

  • Interns will be paired with a buddy (a mentor) in their office location for the duration of their internship.
