Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Nurse (LPN/RN) assists in the coordination of daily operations within the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program. This role supports facility leadership and department heads to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while promoting continuous quality improvement and positive outcomes for the Veterans we serve.

 

Key Qualifications

  • Current, unencumbered, active Texas LPN or RN license
  • Previous clinical healthcare experience, including direct experience in quality assurance
  • Knowledge of QA/QAPI processes and regulatory compliance in a long-term care setting
  • Ability to make independent decisions and work collaboratively across departments
  • Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coordination of daily operations of the Quality Assurance Department
  • Track quality indicators, incidents, accidents, and trends requiring corrective action
  • Assist with audits, chart reviews, and regulatory compliance monitoring
  • Participate in investigations related to incidents, grievances, abuse allegations, and sentinel events
  • Develop reports and assist with corrective action plans and performance improvement initiatives
  • Support staff education and re-education related to quality and regulatory standards
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident, employee, and facility information
