Description

Join Elite Medical Transport as a Fleet Service Technician, where you’ll play a critical role in keeping our life-saving vehicles on the road. This position focuses on the essential upkeep of our gas and diesel ambulance fleet and support equipment. Working under the guidance of our Shop Foreman, you will handle the foundational repairs and preventative inspections that ensure our crews and patients remain safe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fleet Reliability: Execute routine preventative maintenance (PMs) and comprehensive safety inspections on ambulances and passenger vehicles.
  • Technical Support: Perform "first-line" repairs, including fluid/filter swaps, battery replacements, and lighting/electrical component fixes (fuses, bulbs, lenses).
  • Collaborative Repairs: Assist the Shop Mechanic and Foreman with complex diagnostics and mechanical overhauls involving braking systems, suspensions, and drivetrains.
  • Fleet Logistics: Safely maneuver vehicles within the shop area and assist with on-site road calls at various base locations.
  • Detailed Documentation: Maintain precision in record-keeping, ensuring all parts, labor, and work orders are logged accurately before a vehicle is cleared for service.
  • Shop Stewardship: Uphold a high standard of safety and organization within the shop environment and assist with vehicle cleaning as needed.

  • Ability to handle basic mechanical issues independently while knowing when to escalate complex repairs to senior staff.
  • Strict adherence to company protocols and safety standards.
