Position Summary

The Director of Nursing (DON) provides overall leadership and direction for the Nursing Department in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. Under the direction of the Administrator and Regional Director of Clinical Operations, the DON partners with clinical leadership to ensure the highest standards of quality care, compliance, and resident safety are maintained at all times.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, develop, and direct nursing services and clinical operations
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and survey readiness
  • Lead staffing, clinical performance, and quality improvement efforts
  • Support nursing leadership and promote a culture of accountability and excellence

 

Key Qualifications

  • Nursing degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing leadership or supervisory experience
  • At least 6 months’ experience in rehabilitative or restorative nursing
  • Current, unencumbered Texas RN license
  • Ability to make independent decisions and lead in dynamic clinical environments
  • Strong communication skills with staff, residents, families, and regulatory agencies
