Position Security Manager  
Description

The Security Manager leads daily security operations across the AREA15 district under the guidance of the Director of Security. This role ensures security officers follow security procedures and protocols while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for guests and team members. The Security Manager is also responsible for protecting company assets and overseeing security training, staffing, coaching, counseling, and professional development, all within a fast-paced, immersive entertainment and nightlife setting.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Demonstrate a friendly, personal, and professional demeanor while upholding AREA15 values and delivering exceptional guest service to guests and team members.
  • Maintain working knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Work safely at all times and take proactive steps to prevent personal injury.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to the safety of team members and guests through daily actions.
  • Stay attentive to all AREA15 venues, upcoming events, BEOs, and operational updates to ensure smooth operations and guest experiences.
  • Maintain the workstation in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Provide guests with accurate information and directions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of identification types, features, and textures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of persons of interest who may be denied entrance to the venue, as well as former employees who have been 86'd from the venue.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of VIP guests, clients, and executives.
  • Review and edit incident and accident reports for completeness, accuracy, and provide statistical data to management.
  • Oversee and coordinate security operations with Security Leads and Supervisors to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Submit written reports of any breaches of laws, regulations, policies, and procedures to the Security Director.
  • Assist with internal or external investigations conducted by Human Resources or authorized local authorities.
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Initiate corrective action and provide coaching when necessary.
  • Perform the duties of all Security positions as required.
  • Remain alert for any suspicious persons or activities and report any safety hazards immediately to Maintenance.
  • Ensure all team members comply with company regulations, ordinances, MICS, and policies and procedures.
  • Patrol the venue premises to ensure the safety of customers and team members.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all radios and other equipment used by Security personnel.
  • Respond to emergency incidents and take appropriate actions as necessary.
  • Provide and/or schedule additional security as needed.
  • Take required enforcement actions for violations of County and State laws and, if warranted, contact local authorities for assistance.
  • Assist in the training of department staff and in developing and implementing the department's standard operating procedure manual.
  • Protect company assets at all times.
  • Prepare reports and correspondence, and ensure leadership is updated on issues and incidents.
  • Be available to respond to time-sensitive matters.
  • Demonstrate ART! (AREA15's service standards) in every guest interaction.
  • Adhere to department and company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a professional, polished appearance in line with AREA15 standards.
  • Work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Comfortable working in a creative, entrepreneurial start-up environment, introducing new concepts and innovations.
  • Minimum 2 years of security management experience.
  • Hospitality or nightclub experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a security team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong guest service and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally.
  • Ability to make sound decisions quickly and effectively under pressure.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Nevada TAM certification (alcohol awareness) and LVMPD Sheriff’s Card.
  • Ability to stand, patrol, and respond to emergencies for extended periods.
  • Ability to understand, speak, read, and write the English language.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft applications. (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
  • Availability for varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in an environment subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, flashing lights, and smoke.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions including but not limited to extreme heat, sun exposure, wind, rain, extreme cold.
