They lead an interdisciplinary team to diagnose, manage, and treat physical impairments and disabilities. The primary goal is to help patients maximize their functional ability and independence. Key responsibilities Conduct comprehensive evaluations to determine the causes of physical impairments and develop individualized rehabilitation plans. Create and manage treatment plans that may include medication, therapeutic exercise, injections, and assistive devices. Lead and coordinate care with a team of healthcare professionals, such as physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists. Perform specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, which can include: Electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies Ultrasound-guided and fluoroscopy-guided injections Spasticity treatments (Botulinum toxin injections) Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment plans, and self-management strategies. Track patient progress, modifying treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes. Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with all relevant regulations.   Category Provider   Exempt/Non-Exempt Exempt   Location Long Island Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine - Orthopedics   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Position Requirements M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school. Completion of a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency program. Board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR). Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in New York State. Fellowship training in neurorehabilitation, pain medicine, or sports medicine preferred.
