Warehouse Shipping Supervisor – 12 noon – 8:30 p.m. (subject to change based on business needs)

In this role, your primary focus will be to oversee shipping and picking operations for the assigned 12:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. shift (subject to change based on business needs), including direct supervision of staff, work assignment, and workflow coordination. This role ensures company procedures are consistently followed to deliver the correct materials, in the correct quantities, on time, to meet customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for day-to-day operations to ensure accurate and timely picking/shipping processes of all orders with maximum efficiency.
- Understand and follow company policies and procedures. Always operating with a safety-first standard.
- Day’s Work in a Day: PWSG’s overriding expectations for all employees is to complete ALL assigned tasks and responsibilities daily. No work tasks should be carried over from current day to the next. It is the supervisor’s responsibility to see that ALL tasks are completed daily and accurately.
- Schedule couriers as needed
- Address all customer complaints or accidents
- Management of wire rack; ensure those assigned accurately tag and organize
- Ensure Warehouse, aisles and grounds are continually maintained in a neat and orderly manner.
- Ensure that only authorized personnel operate forklifts and other company equipment in a safe manner.
- Ensure all equipment is functioning properly (including but limited to: wire cutting tools and machines, pipe threading tools and machines, fork trucks, and delivery vehicles); Ensure safety standards are adhered to by all staff members
- Strive to continually improve processes, training and development
- Perform other duties as required or requested by the Warehouse Manager
Supervisory Functions:
- Direct supervision of assigned staff, work assignments and workflow coordination; schedules and organizes staff to ensure proper staffing of shift.
- Ensure effective coaching methods throughout the outbound operations while maintaining all company policies and procedures.
- In coordination with Warehouse Manager; staffing; hiring, scheduling, training & performance management Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Work with Warehouse Manager to manage discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Physical and Work Requirements
- Work in a Warehouse setting; some outdoor exposure during the workday
- Required to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move objects up to seventy pounds
- Must be able to push/pull pallet jack or cart weighing up to 350lbs.
- Able to perform repeated motions of bending, squatting, stooping, and standing; to include motion of removing product from truck, stabilizing on mode of delivery via two-wheel dolly, or carrying by hand.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certificate in electrical or business-related field preferred.
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience warehouse operations, preferably wholesale distribution, and two (2) years supervisory experience preferred. Product knowledge of electrical and plumbing supplies is also preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and motivate warehouse staff in a fast-paced environment
- Strong working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control, and shipping documentation
- Proven ability to multitask across competing priorities while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and focus on desired outcomes.
- Proven experience prioritizing work, meeting shipping deadlines, and adjusting staffing levels to workload demands
- Ability to enforce safety standards and promote a culture of safety, accuracy, and accountability
- Solid critical thinking skills with the ability to resolve shipping discrepancies, labor issues, and operational challenges
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to provide clear direction and collaborate with operations, sales, and management teams
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar business systems
- Ability to work the scheduled 12:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. shift, with flexibility for overtime as business needs requires
- Physically able to work in a warehouse environment, including standing, walking, and lifting material in accordance with job requirements (see above)
