Richmond Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time EHR Trainer to join thier team.  This is a full-time position with the benefit of a hybrid work schedule.  Job duties include in-person and remote trainings on the Electronic Health Record system (i.e. Netsmart MyAvatar NX)  and other related systems for new employees, existing employees and community partners. As the gate keeper to the EHR, this position will create user accounts in adherence to pre-defined user rights, credentials and program supervisor specifications,  will learn best practice RBHA workflows which includes important day to day functions such as recording services, state reporting compliance, scheduling, medical record management, and all other E.H.R. related job functions, as well as assist with quality improvement tasks as needed.  The E.H.R. trainer is expected to provide our administrative, clinical and medical staff with the tools to complete documentation responsibilities efficiently, bill for services without error and comply with all state reporting data entry expectations upon completion of the training, develop and maintain training material for the electronic health record and other related technologies, provide helpdesk support for the EHR, and related work as apparent or assigned.  Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Clinical Informatics Program Supervisor.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct training and retraining for new and existing clinical, medical and administrative employees on the electronic health record workflows.  
  • Assists in establishing E.H.R training needs and developing training plans regarding new technologies and new workflows for programs, specific group of employees, or a single employee
  • Design and maintain effective training materials and workflows (paper guides, videos and online materials) for the E.H.R. and related technologies
  • Create User Accounts in the E.H.R.
  • Support RBH employees by providing helpdesk and technical support, troubleshooting and identifying opportunities for E.H.R. improvements
  • Assist with Quality Improvement tasks as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to effectively communicate to small and large groups of people, thorough knowledge of meeting software such as Zoom/MS TEAMS, working knowledge of the of E.H.R. (i.e. Netsmart MyAvatar NX) with the ability to learn new information/workflows, ability to learn and utilize various tools and software to create training guides/videos, Proficiency with Microsoft office, ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, consultants, clinicians, affiliates, associates and the general public.

 
Position Requirements

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree with coursework in education, or related field with experience in adult education, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements

This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing and using hands to finger, handle or feel, frequently requires sitting and occasionally requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling, lifting and repetitive motions; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts and operating machines; work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).

Starting Salary Range 59,584.73
