Description

A large, established nonprofit organization seeks a Volunteer Supervisor to support programs serving youth and families across New York City. This full-time, permanent position plays an important role in coordinating volunteer-supported advocacy services that promote safety, stability, and positive outcomes for young people.

 

The Volunteer Supervisor is responsible for training, supporting, and supervising a team of volunteers who provide advocacy and support to youth involved in community-based systems. Responsibilities also include volunteer recruitment and outreach, participation in virtual meetings related to youth cases, and limited direct case coordination until assignments are transitioned to volunteers.

 

This is a hybrid position requiring a combination of in-office and remote work. Staff work several days per week from a Manhattan-based office location, with remaining days worked remotely. Occasional travel within New York City may be required.

 

Key Responsibilities

Recruit, train, and supervise program volunteers

Provide ongoing coaching, guidance, and performance support

Participate in case-related meetings and documentation processes

Conduct community outreach and volunteer engagement activities

Provide short-term case coordination as needed

Collaborate with internal staff and external partners to support youth and families

 

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary range: $55,000–$70,000, depending on qualifications and experience

Position Requirements

Qualifications

MSW required

Two to five years of relevant post-graduate professional experience working with youth or families

Strong organizational, communication, and supervisory skills

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment

 

Preferred:

Bilingual skills (Spanish/English or other languages)

LMSW credential

Familiarity with New York City community-based resources
