Description

Play a critical role in the lives of youth involved in the child welfare system, so that they can ultimately live in safe, stable, and nurturing homes. In this important full-time, permanent position as a Volunteer Supervisor, the primary duty is to train and supervise a team of volunteers to be the advocates for youth living in Manhattan and Staten Island. The advocate supervisor also: attends family court (mostly virtually), conducts volunteer recruitment and community outreach, and provides some direct case management and advocacy to youth (until the youth is assigned an advocate). This is a hybrid position in which 2-3 days/week are worked at a downtown Manhattan office and the other days of the work week are worked from home.

Annual Salary: $55,000-$70,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Competitive benefits package and generous time off.

 
Position Requirements

Requires an MSW and two to five years of relevant post-graduate professional child welfare experience. Bi-lingual (Spanish/English or other), LMSW, and knowledge of Staten Island community-based services are all a plus. Must be willing to learn about the resources of Staten Island and attend family court there (once or twice a month).
