POSITION SUMMARY

JOB DESCRIPTION: Assure all clerical practices and procedures are being completed in an efficient and timely manner. To serve as major support staff to all departments and to supervise clerical staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Has the ability to perform all the duties of supervised positions.
  2. Ensures that all administrative and secretarial staff are trained in exceptional guest service including reception of visitors and staff and recording and forwarding of messages in a timely and efficient manner.
  3. Responsible for records management and the assurance that filing systems are maintained for all departments.
  4. Responsible for ensuring office equipment is operating smoothly at all times.
  5. Maintains and efficient mailing system, including distribution of incoming correspondence.
  6. Responsible for ordering and storing of all office supplies as needed on a weekly basis. Includes the ordering of forms, time cards, I.D. badge materials and any other type of forms that are used by the Casino.
  7. Supervises clerical staff, ensuring that office is adequately staffed for assigned hours and that staff are doing necessary work as assigned, including processing of employee paperwork and forwarding to Gaming office in a timely manner.
  8. Provides major support for all staff, including supervisors, department managers and upper management.
  9. Ensures telephones and computers are operational adequately through troubleshooting on site or through communication with IT Department.
  10. Assure payroll records for department managers and department are correct and forwarded to payroll office in a timely manner.
  11. Maintains knowledge of all events in the property as a whole.
  12. Attends and/or facilitates all mandatory meetings and training.
  13. Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  14. Is sensitive to Native American Culture.
  15. Operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations.
  16. Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
  17. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 
Position Requirements

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Supervisory experience
  2. General business office skills
  3. Familiar with office equipment
  4. Knowledge of phone system and telephone etiquette
  5. Must possess good communication skills
  6. Organizational skills
  7. Ability to work independently

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Physically capable of sitting for long periods of time.
  2. Subject to internal working conditions, including a smoking environment.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS

Education Required: Associate’s Degree (two year college or university)

Experience: Four years’ experience in a professional office environment

Computer Skills: Must have strong computer skills

Certificates & Licenses: Must meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements, pass criminal background check and submit to drug testing.
