This role is responsible for estimating, bidding, and managing construction projects within Long Fence’s specialty contracting services while overseeing staff, driving profitability, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and public agencies. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in construction estimating and project management, particularly within public works and highway construction markets. We are seeking an experienced professional to lead operations and project management for a diverse portfolio of construction projects, including public works, highway construction, and commercial/industrial developments. This role is responsible for managing projects from bid award through closeout, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives. The successful candidate will oversee compliance with contract documents, safety regulations, and industry standards while coordinating resources across multiple projects. In addition to project execution, this position plays a key role in estimating and business development. Responsibilities include preparing and submitting accurate, competitive cost estimates, identifying new business opportunities in both public and private markets, and maintaining strong relationships with general contractors, owners, inspectors, and public agencies. The role also involves monitoring bid opportunities and market conditions to drive growth and profitability. As a leader, you will supervise and mentor a team of estimators, project managers, field foremen, and support staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork. You will manage branch budgets, cost controls, and financial performance, including reviewing job cost reports and project forecasts. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of construction management experience, strong estimating skills, and familiarity with PennDOT and Pennsylvania Turnpike standards. Proficiency in construction estimating and project management software, along with excellent leadership and organizational abilities, is essential.
