AREA15 is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager of Attractions who serves as a hybrid technical leader, systems strategist, safety champion, and operations partner responsible for the ongoing maintenance, safety, and operational reliability of all amusement rides, attractions, arcade games, and specialty vehicles. This leader oversees, plans, and documents all maintenance activities in alignment with manufacturer guidelines, ASTM standards, and applicable regulatory requirements, ensuring every system operates at peak performance. The Maintenance Manager supervises a team of technicians, guiding maintenance standards, preventive programs, inspections, repairs, and documentation so all tasks are executed accurately, safely, and efficiently. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Oversee and ensure the ongoing safety, efficiency, reliability, and availability of all amusement rides and attraction in accordance with manufacturer requirements, regulatory standards, and company policies. Oversee the maintenance, performance, and uptime of all arcade games and interactive entertainment equipment, ensuring proper operation, regular inspections, and timely repairs. Manage the upkeep and safe operation of the tram vehicles, including preventive maintenance scheduling, diagnostics, repair coordination, and compliance with all applicable transportation and safety regulations. Develop, recommend, and implement new departmental policies and procedures, continually improving safety practices, attraction availability, preventive maintenance strategies, and overall departmental performance. Provide leadership to maintenance staff by ensuring all employees work safely and comply with local laws, OSHA regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and industry best practices. Manage and supervise the completion of ride repairs, preventive maintenance, and major rehabilitation projects, ensuring work is completed accurately, timely, and to the highest technical standards. Oversee the documentation, accuracy, and retention of all daily, weekly, monthly, and annual ride inspections, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal requirements. Ensure timely execution of required housekeeping, cleaning, and regulatory maintenance tasks while identifying and reporting any abnormal conditions or equipment concerns. Monitor and manage all department metrics, including inventory, recordkeeping, compliance status, wear tolerance specifications, maintenance schedules, and equipment performance, communicating key updates to senior management. Address and resolve ride maintenance issues, employee concerns, and special project requests to support optimal attraction performance and guest satisfaction. Uphold all AREA15 policies and procedures, including those related to safety, attendance, EEO, and customer service, serving as a role model for departmental standards. Demonstrate AREA15's ART! service standards in all guest, team, and vendor interactions. Ensure staff maintain a professional, polished appearance consistent with AREA15 standards and enforce department-wide adherence. Create and manage staff schedules, overseeing a team that works various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to support attraction operations. Provide ongoing training, coaching, and performance evaluation for maintenance team members, identifying opportunities for professional growth and technical upskilling. Coordinate with other departments - Operations, Facilities, and Vendors - to ensure seamless attraction functionality and communication. Proof of eligibility to work in the United States. Experience working in a creative, entrepreneurial, and fast-paced environment where innovation and new ideas are encouraged. Strong knowledge of amusement industry standards and practices; familiarity with ASTM F2291, F1193, and F770 strongly preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in attraction, ride, or facility maintenance, including expertise in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical/motor systems, chassis, hoists, rigging, or related technical disciplines. Prior leadership or supervisory experience overseeing multi-disciplinary technical teams preferred. Ability to manage, train, and mentor maintenance staff while fostering a positive, safety-focused workplace culture. Certified or able to obtain certification to operate boom and scissor lifts. Ability to climb and work at heights up to 190 ft (and occasionally beyond as needed). Ability to lift 25 lbs or more. Strong ability to learn, adapt, cross-train, and pursue ongoing technical self-development. Self-motivated, organized, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical and electrical systems; PLC knowledge a plus. Ability to work in all weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat, sun exposure, wind, rain, and cold. Ability to understand, speak, read, and write English fluently. Proficient with Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.) and able to use digital maintenance management systems. Comfortable working in environments with varying noise levels, crowds, flashing lights, smoke effects, and other sensory elements.
