A Typical Day as a Director of IT:
Set the vision and long-term technology strategy for the organization
Lead the execution of all technology initiatives across departments
Oversee system architecture, infrastructure, and core IT operations
Direct cybersecurity efforts to protect data, systems, and network integrity
Manage data governance, data integrity, and overall data management practices
Oversee software development, implementation, and system integrations
Drive technology innovation to support organizational growth and efficiency
Ensure technology investments align with business goals and deliver measurable value
Optimize operational performance through effective use of technology
Provide senior leadership, guidance, and oversight to the IT/Technology team
Establish policies, standards, and best practices for technology operations
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
10 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in relevant professional experience
Strong knowledge of cloud technologies, APIs, and modern development frameworks.
Strong knowledge of telecommunications, network and PC operating systems
Extensive application support experience
Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development.
In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
Must possess an enthusiasm for identifying and implementing process improvements
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to resolve disputes effectively
Outstanding presentation and public speaking skills
Outstanding independent decision-making, analysis and problem-solving skills
Understand, interpret, and act on financial information that contributes to business profitability
Ability to plan and manage complex and successful projects; understand available resources, develop timeline, budget, and assign areas of responsibility
Lead teams to achieve company goals and solve complex business issues in creative and effective ways
Communicate effectively with senior management and key stakeholders
Ability to influence, build relationships, understand organizational complexities, manage conflict, and navigate politics
Master’s degree preferred
Experience working in a matrixed corporate environment
Experience working in digital health, health tech, medical software, or related regulated environments
Medical/Healthcare industry background
