Richmond Behavioral Health Emergency Services Program is now offering sign-on bonus opportunities for qualified professionals! We are recruiting for qualified full-time licensed or license-eligible clinicians to provide crisis intervention and community response services. Emergency Services offers an exciting, dynamic work environment providing services to adults, youth, individuals with behavioral health disorders, and persons in need of developmental services. All crisis positions are essential and will require hours beyond more traditional scheduling options.

As the Lead Clinician, the successful candidate will provide support to the program supervisory staff to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality clinical services, adherence to evidence-based practices, and compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards.

Essential Functions include:

Direct Workflow: Oversee and coordinate daily operations to ensure efficient service delivery.

Staff Coaching: Provide individualized coaching and mentorship to direct service staff to enhance clinical skills and performance.

Team Communication: Facilitate clear and timely communication between teams to promote collaboration and continuity of care.

Leadership Support: Serve as backup for Program Supervisors during absences or high-demand periods.

Meetings & Collaboration: Attend program leadership meetings as requested and contribute to strategic planning and problem-solving.

Quality Assurance: Monitor adherence to clinical standards and organizational policies.

Duties will also include preadmission screening evaluation for hospitalization, crisis intervention, triage for non­emergency intakes, information & referral, brief case management, and crisis stabilization. Services require working in the office and in a variety of community settings. Must be able to multi­task, manage stressful and high-risk work environments, interface with multiple behavioral health partners and first responders, and to work independently with minimal need for direct supervision.

Provides crisis intervention and prevention services to individuals and families.

Develops and maintains administrative and clinical files; prepares various reports and case related correspondence.

Participates in clinical, administrative and supervisory meetings; collaborates with other staff members concerning cases.

Manages and documents contacts; enters and updates information in database.

Coordinates and links client to community resources and medical services; interfaces with other service providers and client support system.

Attends professional conferences and trainings as required.

Attends court as needed.

Supervises student interns as directed.

Holidays, weekends and evenings shifts required. Position is considered designated to report to work as scheduled during any RBHA closure. 6.25% differential to be included in final salary.

 
Position Requirements

Education and Experience

Master’s degree with major course work in social work, counseling, psychology or related field and considerable experience working with clients with behavioral health and/or developmental disabilities in a behavioral healthcare setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements

Required: Current VA license as LCSW, LPC, LCP or LMFT with an advanced degree in social work, psychology, or counseling and at least two years post-graduate experience in service delivery with children and/or adults experience mental health needs is preferred. Licensed eligible candidates will be considered.

Valid driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Starting Salary Range $66,500 (6.25% differential included)
