Description

We are seeking a dynamic, energetic and hands-on Lead Retail Associate to join our branded merchandise team at AREA15. This role blends sales, leadership, and immersive storytelling, offering a unique opportunity to guide team members, drive sales, and create memorable guest experiences across our common areas and retail spaces. You'll help bring the AREA15 brand to life by leading by example, mentoring associates, and ensuring that every interaction reflects our guest-centric approach.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Serve as an on-floor leader and brand ambassador, embodying AREA15's immersive and guest-centric values.
  • Engage and interact with guests in common areas, showcasing branded merchandise, gadgets, and unique on-brand products.
  • Must be able to tell a story about AREA15 to gain interest and tie it into products.
  • Must be familiar with AREA15 Entertainment calendar to engage with guests and generate repeat business.
  • Must be familiar with Branded merchandise and help guests connect with its products as a part of the overall experience.
  • Must be able to stay calm under the hectic conditions and be able to multitask effectively.
  • Lead by example to all retail associates in delivering high-touch guest service, demonstrating deep product knowledge and enthusiasm for storytelling.
  • Mentor, train, and support Retail Associates in delivering the ART! of Sales (AREA15's guest service philosophy).
  • Introduce guests to AREA15's attractions, events, and unique retail products, creating fun and memorable interactions.
  • Address guest concerns or escalations with professionalism, positivity, and discretion.
  • Support onboarding and the ongoing training of new team members to reinforce AREA15's brand standards and immersive experiences.
  • Assist with daily store operations including opening/closing procedures, POS management, cashless transactions, and inventory control.
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards in collaboration with management and visual teams.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking or merchandising needs with the warehouse
  • Communicate team member issues directly to management, including tardies and ART! Performance
  • Help ensure loss prevention protocols and operational compliance are followed.
  • Contribute to a culture of accountability, inclusion, and teamwork on the sales floor.
  • Act as a liaison between retail associates and store leadership to relay feedback and operational insights.
  • Stay informed about AREA15 attractions, events, and offerings to cross-promote experiences.
  • Uphold AREA15 policies, procedures, and appearance standards.
  • Be available for various shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate ART! (AREA15's service standards) in every guest interaction.
  • Adhere to department and company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a professional, polished appearance in line with AREA15 standards.
  • Communicate daily sales goals to the team, and work together to meet them
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Comfortable working in a creative, entrepreneurial start-up environment, introducing new concepts and innovations.
  • 2+ years of retail or guest-facing experience required; 1+ year in a lead or keyholder role preferred.
  • Must possess strong sales tactics to meet sales goals and lead the retail team to achieve sales goals.
  • Must stay up to date on AREA15 and [enter each location, e.g., WM or JW] entertainment offerings and articulate them during every interaction with guests.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot issues professionally or escalate them to the management team in a timely manner.
  • Passion for immersive experiences, innovative retail concepts, and guest engagement.
  • Proven ability to coach peers, lead by example, and build team morale.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in POS systems and standard retail operations.
  • Excellent time-management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions including but not limited to extreme heat, sun exposure, wind, rain, extreme cold.
  • Ability to understand, speak, read, and write the English language.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft applications. (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
  • Availability for varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Minimum of 30 hours availability, hours available based on business needs
  • Ability to work in an environment subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, flashing lights, and smoke.
